to Spain between the 9th and 14th centuries, with influences stemming from the Phoenicians and Roman eras. Flamenco originated in Spain with the arrival of the gypsies (Gitanos) on the Iberian Peninsula (Spain and Portugal), in the 15th century. It is a dance of artistry, passion, and deep emotion, sprinkled with Moorish influences.
